Thanks to Led technology, added to which is the new line of semiconductors, video images are sharper than ever - you will enjoy deepest blacks, crisp whites and all-round color vibrancy in an broad viewing contact that is nothing short of spectacular. Higher variation ratios of 500,000:1 and faster refresh rates at 250 Hz and above mean that you get photo potential that is beyond compare. Lifelike images and crisply displayed motion, even for high-speed content, takes Tv viewing into the future.

Not only is the photo potential great on the best Led Tvs, but they are designed to use significantly less power. On average, these televisions use 40-50% less power than comparable Lcd Tvs, making them easy on power resources as well as on your wallet - you'll find yourself paying less each month in utility bills. What's more is that no mercury is used in making these Tvs. Mercury is toxic to the environment, and is generally used in Lcd Tvs so it's great that this Tvs are made without this harmful substance.

As a normal trend, the best Led Tvs in today's store have consistently been coming from Samsung, clearly at the forefront of this technology. Not far behind are brands such as Sony and Toshiba. As the competition gets more fierce, prices of these Tvs will consistently be lowered, and potential improved as kinks and bugs are fixed in the performance. generally speaking it is recommended to go not for the top of the line models but the ones right below, for the best price-and-performance equilibrium to get the best value for your money.

In these cases the carrying out of the Tv is roughly always comparable to the top-end model, and features offered tend also to be quite similar, but the variation in price is normally quite significant. In the past months alone, prices on these Tvs have been dropping significantly so clearly now is the right time to jump in and buy.

The Right Way to Set Up Your New Blu-ray Player

After having just gotten your new Blu-ray Dvd Player, you will obviously be excited about testing it out. No doubt you will be anxious to see the glorious 1080p picture and High Definition sound quality. So the inquire is this: how to set up your new Blu-ray player to get the highest inherent operation from it? Will it be as easy as connecting your Dvd player? Will it be a breeze?

Not exactly!

Samsung Blu Ray Player

When setting up your new Blu-ray player you have to keep in mind, this is a rather new technology, therefore over the past few years Tvs and Av receivers have been adapting to conform to this new format. Unfortunately, you may scrutinize not all of them can support every new highlight of your Blu-ray player. This may make the process a tiny more difficult than setting up your accepted Dvd player. So I have outlined a few procedures and inherent difficulties you might come over so that you can more really couple your new Blu-ray player into your home entertainment system, hopefully without too much frustration.

Basically to get the best operation out of your Blu-ray player you need to understand three features: Picture, Sound, and Internet Connectivity. You will scrutinize all three can be really done with some easy cable connections; no fine-tuning necessary, just some easy modifications to the set-up menus maybe all that is required. Hopefully this guidance will cut out any obscuring and the whole process will go very smoothly for you.

Picture

1080p High Definition picture ability - this is why most population purchase their first Blu-ray Player and it is the best highlight of any Blu-ray player. Blu-ray movies are stored on a disc in 1080p at 24 frames-per-second so you often see this referred to as 1080/24p. The director filmed the movie at this rate, so Blu-ray discs allow you to view the movie as it was originally meant to be seen. Blu-ray players allow you to watch these Hd movies by connecting it's Hdmi production to the duplicate input on your Tv, so a Hdmi cable will need to be purchased if one is not included with the Blu-ray player. In most cases a Hdmi is not provided. Hdmi cables can run in any place from to 0. (Some argue there is no distinction in Hdmi cables, no matter what the cost.)

Not all Blu-ray players are capable of this 1080/24p production rate. These players will be older, and instead of the 1080/24p production rate they turn the signal to 1080/60p using a formula called "3:2 pulldown' technique. What this simply means is one frame is played three times and the next frame is played twice and so forth. This results in one frame being shown on the Tv screen slightly longer than the other. This produces judder into the picture, a tiny piquant or shaking of the picture.

To avoid this problem, a easy explication would be to purchase a newer model Blu-ray player. Most of the latest models can production 1080p pictures at 24 frames-per-second via Hdmi. Also, your Tv set must be able to support it. If it does not, then if you feed a signal of 1080/24p into a Tv which can not support it, the Tv will turn the signal to 50 or even 60Hz. This will also place judder into the picture.

What this all comes down to is to get the best, purest and most genuine High Definition picture possible, you wish a Blu-ray Player capable of a 1080/24p production signal (this is really selected on the set-up menu) and a Tv capable of supporting this signal. Most of the newer Lcd and Plasma televisions will give you the right support you need. Lcd sets regularly have a 120Hz mode, where each of the 24 frames is repeated five times and shown on the screen for the same amount of time, producing no juddering. Plasma regularly has 72Hz 3:3 pulldown mode and they can use this because they do not have as much slowdown as the Lcd.

Sound

The second highlight most population purchase the Blu-ray for is the perfect sound quality. Blu-ray has the classic 'lossless' Dolby True Hd and Dts Hd expert Audio. What you get with these audio formats is 100 percent selfsame to the customary studio expert track. This is a clear advantage over Dvds which use Dolby Digital and Dts, but again as with the picture signal, not all Av receivers are capable of decoding the newer High Definition formats.

Set up is fairly easy if your receiver can decode the formats because both Hd formats can be used via the Blu-ray player's Hdmi production port and the Hdmi input port on the receiver. This allows a bitstream (meaning raw digital data) to be transferred to your Av receiver where it is decoded into multichannel sound. All you need to do is set your Blu-ray player's Hdmi production to bitstream or primary. The Hdmi ports on these devices must be specified as version 1.3/1.3a/1.3b. These are the only versions that allow for the transmitting of Dolby TrueHd and Dts-Hd Audio. You will also need a Second Hdmi Cable to connect the Av receiver's Hdmi production to your Tv's Hdmi input. The Av receiver will decode the audio and transmit the 1080/24p video signal.

Things can get a tiny trickier if your Av receiver does not decode the Hd audio formats. However, it does not mean you can not still enjoy the great high ability sound. One choice available to you is to set up your Blu-ray player to internally decode the audio and turn it to Lpcm (an uncompressed form of audio). This choice is located in the set-up menu and found on almost every Blu-ray player. Lcpm can be transferred over any version of Hdmi and it preserves the high multichannel sound ability of both Dolby True Hd and Dts Hd. This way your receiver does not have to do any decoding. (Take note that some lesser Blu-ray players will only turn 5.1 Dolby Digital or Dts into Lpcm.)

This Lcpm choice assumes your Av receiver has Hdmi inputs. If it does not have these Hdmi inputs, then your best choice is to look for Blu-ray Players that can decode the Hd sound formats into high ability analogue and production them from multichannel outputs. Using visual or coaxial outputs which are regularly found on most players can not be used because the do not have the adequate bandwidth capabilities to transmit Dolby TrueHd and Dts-Hd Audio.

Internet Connectivity

Most newer Blu-ray players have a highlight called Bd Live which allows you to download article from the internet, play games online and partake in web chats. To use this highlight you need a Blu-ray player with a Profile 2.0 since these Blu-ray players have an Ethernet port you can use to connect to an internet router or computer. (Profile 1.1 may have an Ethernet port but Will Not support Bd Live.)

Also, you may need a Usb flash memory drive or Sd card to plug into your Blu-ray player. This provides digital storehouse for updates and extra data. It's recommended that the drive or card be at least 1 Gb. Other than the Playstation 3, no other Blu-ray players on the store have internal memory built-in, but some newer Blu-ray players are now unveiling Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for external storage.

Conclusion

Hopefully, by checking all three factors discussed above - Picture, Sound, and Internet Connectivity - will make setting up your new Blu-ray player a lot easier. Just result all the steps and you will get the best picture and sound ability that only a Blu-ray law can deliver. Happy viewing!

3D technology is not a new thing as it has been nearby since 1950's but it was plan of then more as a gimmick rather than a technology that could improve Tv viewing. With the coming of newer technology, the manufacturers are hoping that 3D Tv could break this and get the consumers to patronize the 3D concept. Hdtv Enters the Fourth size - 120Hz Frame Rates

There's a lot of talk these days about frame rates in the new Hdtvs. The frame rate is simply the amount of positive images a Tv screen can display in a second, and is also known as the display rate or "Hertz". Hertz is the scientific unit for cycles per second, and is abbreviated "Hz". The latest buzzword is "120Hz", which means a display rate of 120 frames per second. This is twice as fast as most Hdtvs are capable of (60Hz), so it ought to make the enchanting pictures look smoother. But, the human eye can only process about 20 to 25 positive images per second, so why should it matter what the frame rate is, as long as it is faster than your eyes can see?

The reply comes when you comprehend that not all video is filmed at the same rate. Movies are ordinarily filmed at a rate of 24 Hz, most Tv is filmed at 30 Hz, and some sports events are now being filmed at 60 Hz.

Samsung Blu Ray Player

Some uncomplicated math will show the question and communicate the solution. When a Tv set wants to display 60 frames per second, and the cable Tv company sends it 30 frames per second, that's easy to deal with: the Tv shows each frame twice in a row, creating an image made up of two consecutive frames. Each image will last exactly 1/30th of a second on the screen, and things will look perfectly smooth.

So what happens when your Dvd player sends 24 frames per second to the Tv, but the Tv still wants to show 60 on the screen? This is a small slower than the cable Tv frame rate, so if it simply shows each frame twice and then waits for the next one, there will be a black gap in in the middle of and the movie will look terrible. So, the Tv needs to triple one frame, duplicate the next, triple the following one, and so on, giving it a total of 60 frames to show each second. This is known as 3:2 Pulldown.

The 3:2 Pulldown trick works Ok, but there is a problem. One image lasts a 20th of a second, then the next lasts a 30th. A 20th of a second is long adequate for most population to tell that it's verily a static image, and when the camera pans colse to in a scene, things will seem to move unevenly. But if your Tv is able to display 120 frames per second, it can take the 24 Hz input and simply show each frame 5 times in a row for a total of 1/24 (or 5/120) second per frame, with no incompatibility from frame to frame. And when 30Hz video comes in, it displays each frame 4 times in a row, for a total of 1/30 (or 4/120) second per frame. question solved.

Now that frame rates are fast adequate to display any kind of input smoothly, Hdtvs not only have high resolution in the x and y (height and width) dimensions, but also in the t (time) dimension. As in all kinds of digital media, higher resolution means smaller units of data, and that means a more lifelike pregnancy of reality. The 120Hz frame rate won't be very base until 2008, but a few Hdtvs already have it, like the Sony Bravia Xbr4 series and the Sharp Aquos 92U series.

Hdtv has verily entered the fourth dimension (time), but has skipped the third (depth) in the process. Until we see start looking holographic movies on Dvd, we'll have to wait for true four-dimensional Tv.

3D Technology Checklist

This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:

A Display
First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
A Source
Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
3D Content
3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
3D Glasses
For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
HDMI Cable
To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

Internet-Ready Devices

Internet-ready devices use your broadband connection to deliver dynamic content to your television, whether it's streaming video from Netflix, new music from Pandora, or a quick glance at today's weather forecast.

Although there is overlap, each manufacturer offers a unique bundle of free or paid services, including streaming video and music, social networking apps, online photo galleries, news and financial updates, weather info, sports scores, and a variety of other smartphone-like applications.

Manufacturers continue to add new content to their offerings, keeping customers current through firmware updates, and making a bit of research a prudent step in your buying decision.
